1988 is a great classic Bordeaux vintage, as much for the white wines as for the reds. Thanks to the hot, dry conditions during the months of August and September, the Sauvignon grapes reached an excellent level of ripeness and were picked at an ideal time, before the light rains which came at the beginning of the harvesting of red grapes. After a few slightly "ungiving" years, when the wine had not yet developed its bouquet of a mature wine, this vintage is now showing very well. It is fine, fresh, complex, sappy and quite crisp. It should nevertheless be drunk. (October 2018)

Climate
After a very mild winter and a wet spring, June and the beginning of July were particularly rainy. Then, from mid-July onwards, until the end of September, hot and very dry weather set in. Despite a few light rain showers at the beginning of the harvest, the picking was carried out in excellent conditions. (The picking began 3rd October)
