1972 is a mediocre year marked by a greeness resulting from the grapes failing to reach full maturity. We thought this wine should be drunk fairly quickly, but a bottle tasted blind in 2017 astounded us. The nose was superb, very complex, reminiscent of some beautiful, whole-cluster Burgundies. The acidity was noticeable, but gave length to the wine. Impressive for the vintage!
