Our teams have been working on the crucial blending stage since January. The batches from different plots are carefully tasted by the technical team. The teams then met every week over a period of around a month to select and harmonise these batches, on the basis of numerous discussions and tests.
This is a key stage in the production of our three red wines: the Grand Vin du Château Margaux, the Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, and the Margaux du Château Margaux. Every decision taken during the blending process aims to fully express the identity of each terroir and preserve the balance, complexity and elegance that characterise our wines.
In parallel, the same rigorous work is carried out with the Sauvignon Blanc batches, to create our two white wines: the Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux and the Pavillon Blanc Second Vin. Each selection is made to the same exacting standards, thereby ensuring an authentic, harmonious expression of the vintage.
Every year, this selection and blending process produces a unique vintage, reflecting Château Margaux’s terroir and excellence, and preserving the exceptional expertise that is passed from one generation to the next.
