Beginning of the red harvest

We started harvesting the reds this morning. After 2011, this is the earliest harvest we have ever had at Château Margaux.

We were excited to welcome our « small » team (that still means 109 harvesters!), mainly made up of returning harvest workers. They will start by picking our earliest-ripening Merlot plots and will be joined, in a few days, by our full team of pickers.

After the exceptional conditions of this summer (heat waves combined with drought), we are expecting very high quality but  with a small yield.
