In 1982, Château Margaux inaugurated one of Médoc’s first underground cellars, under the direction of André Mentzelopoulos who had purchased the Estate five years earlier. This project marked a milestone in the history of the vineyard. A technical feat at that time, it also demonstrated innovative vision and great rigor in terms of execution.
In 2019, we updated the cellar once again, incorporating new technology to ensure even more accurate control of the temperature and hygrometric conditions.
All of these projects reflect our prime objective of continually improving the quality of our wines.
