The harvest of the reds began last week. As usual, we started by picking the youngest plots, as well as our earliest Merlots. In the cellar the intense aromas from the fermentation vats are beginning to fill the air. We are waiting for the larger team of pickers; over 250 people are going to concentrate on selecting the best of our grapes! Just a few more Merlots, then next week we will calmly start on the great Cabernets. It seems that the weather also wants to join in the excitement of the harvest. Every extra day of sunshine enables us to decide the order of picking each of our plots with greater care and accuracy.
